Modeling of Tensile Test Results for Low Alloy Steels by Linear Regression and Genetic Programming Taking into Account the Non-Metallic Inclusions

Štore Steel Ltd. is one of the biggest flat spring steel producers in Europe. The main motive for this study was to influences non-metallic inclusions on mechanical properties obtained by tensile testing. From January 2016 December 2021, all available strength data (472 cases–472 test pieces) 17 low alloy grades, which were ordered and used final user rolled condition, gathered. Based geometry bars, selected chemical composition, average size worst fields (sulfur, silicate, aluminium globular oxides), determined based ASTM E45, several models strength, yield percentage elongation, reduction area using linear regression genetic programming. modeling results period from 2022 April 2022, five successively cast batches 30MnVS6 produced with a statistically significant content silicon (t-test, p < 0.05). silicate type inclusions, yield, also changed significantly increased 458.5 MPa 525.4 672.7 754.0 MPa, respectively. It necessary emphasize that there no changes other monitored parameters.
